Pipeline / Cell Therapy
We are currently developing four product candidates in conjunction with our subsidiary Celogos. Celogos specializes in the development of cell-based therapies, with a particular focus on muscle regeneration. Each of these products is based on Celogos' proprietary technology. Muscle precursor cells are isolated from biopsies of a patient's muscle. These precursor cells are grown up in culture, frozen, and then re-injected into the patient at the affected site. The cells then develop into mature muscle cells, repairing the damaged tissue.
Preclinical and small-scale human trials have already been undertaken with one product candidate, with promising results. HRA Pharma is currently working to scale up the patent-protected processes involved in their cell therapy treatments so that these can move into larger trials, and eventually onto the market.
